Tanker visit

On Monday we had a tanker come to our school. We asked lots of questions about his job and the tanker.  Here are some facts that we discovered... The tanker can hold about 26000 litres of milk!  He gets up at 5 o`clock in the morning and goes to 5 different farms.  He only works 3 days a week.  I was lucky enough to climb aboard the tanker and sat on the drivers seat. The staring wheel was humongious! We all got a free ice cream which was yummy!

How to make grass heads

Materials
.stocking
.potting mix
.grass seeds
.decorations
.container

1.get your stocking[ 2 cm long] and put two teaspoons of grass seeds inside the stocking

2.put some potting mix in the stocking

3.tye a knot at the bottom of the grass head

4.decorate the grass head with googly eyes and pipe cleaners

5.get a container and fill with water and put it on top

6. make sure your grass head is wet

7. Put your grass head in the sun and wait.

After a few days your head may start growing grass hair!



Term 4

We are having a very exciting term4 because we are ...  Going to a dairy farm,going to ngaruawahia,we are doing athletics.Calendar art and last but not least we are going to water world.  I can't wait till we are doing all these wonderful things!

The 5/aside tourniment

On saturday I played in the 5/aside tournament.  I was so excited that I woke up at 6.30am.  I had a good feeling about the 5/aside tournament because my team won the championship round.  Then we raced to jansen park where the 5/aside tournament was held.  It was my first time I'd ever played!  The games were only 20 minutes long.  Our normal games are normally 30 minutes.  We had to play 6 games.  My dream was to win all our games so we could get a gold medal.  But instead after 6 hours of hard work we lost 4 games and tyed 2 games.  The last game we had to do a penalty shoot out, and we lost 3-2. 

Oh well, never mind, we still had a great time!

Next week on wednesday and thursday it is the school production.I am a kiwi.Being a kiwi is really cool because we do the haka and I have a partner and his name is Ashton and he is my cousen we have really cool masks.It is hard work 

Cross Country

Last Wednesday it was the big race at school  because it was the School Cross Country . The 7 year old boys had to run around the track on the field two times.  We had to jump over hay bales and run beside the cones. Tukitahi was leading most of the way and I was coming second.but I just kept running and Tukitahi slowed down and I past him.  I sprinted over the finish line.  I was first!  I was feeling tired but happy.   Room 10 kids were cheering me on. Mum and her friends were cheering me on too.

Richard patterson

Richie Patterson was born in the 30th of April in 1983.  His nick name is Richie.
Richie Patterson is a really good weightlifter  and he won a silver medal at the Commomwealth Games in 2010 in the 85 kg weightlifting event.
 He was chosen to represent New Zealand at the London Olympics.  He came fifth.

My learning goals for term 3

My goal for this term is maths because I want to move to the highest group. In need to learn my nine time tables

My reading goal is to read more chapter books

My writing goal is to use more adjectives and use dialogue to make my stories more interesting

This is me at the speech finals. I felt really scared and nervous to begin with but once I started I felt more confident. I was happy to be placed third because I bet my sisters.

Gymsports

In room10 we go to gym sports every Tuesday. Its so much fun. These are my favourite exercises are forwards rolls. Here's how to do a forwards roll. Bend you knees, tuck your head into your chest make sure your on your tipy toes. If I follow all of these steps do you think I'll do a good job?                           

Fishing rocks

During the school holidays I went fishing with my family on my grandads yacht. We went out from  Mt maunganui to the open sea. There was a very big swell but I didn't get sea sick. We stopped for a fish when it was sixty feet down.   
We got our fishing rods ready for some hungry fish. After two and a half hours we had caught 9 fish. We kept 4 snapper and kahawai And threw back 2 snapper that where undersized and a gurnard because it was to pretty too eat. So next time any of you are going fishing how about you give me a call because I'd love to come!










   

Maths

Guess what I'm learning about in awesome maths?Tidy tens. For example 45+----=78.
You jump to a tidy ten. plus 5 to 50, then from fifty to 20 to get to seventy then plus 8. These jumps add to 33. 

My goals in the speech competition is...

My goal in the speech competition is to have expression, eye contact, and body language. If I have all of those things I will have a very good and entertaining speech.

The amasing book fair

I went to the Book Fair and there are lots of amazing books. I really, really, really want to get a Geronimo Stilton book, but my mum said you need to get a differant story because you always read them. I chose one about spies.Spies are cool!

Fractions

This week we are learning about fractions I learnt that a fraction is a part of a whole.  I learnt that1/2 is the same as 2/4 Do you know any other fractions that are the same size a 1/2 ?
